I did the Plone Theme Implementation. This was by far one of the most fun Plone Themes I had to build. Purely for the fact that it I pushed my Plone knowledge to the limit with this one.

So of the things I learnt while doing this theme:
1. This was the first theme I did with drop-down menus.
2. The page detects the flash file's name in a folder (if any), and places it in a place set for that name. The page code also checks the flash file for physical size, and resizes it accordingly
3. The Plone site map was manipulated to create the menu structure in the footer. This little bit is my baby. Due to the fact that it uses the Plone sitemap, the links are all dynamic.
4. The news portlet on the home page was edited to include the article descriptions.

Well, finally I got around to completing the design for the site. For those of you interested in the progress of the project:

Submitted by silentcoder on Mon, 01/26/2009 - 11:16
As of yesterday late, we have all the core targets for the baselines on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of kongoni. The current builds have KDE4.2rc, openoffice.org 3.0 and Songbird 1.0 (for now, the default music player - obviously open for discussion).

We also completed the first version of the kongoni_kde_artwork package, it's still pretty far from being a full theme, but it does contain working wallpaper, boot-menu theme and a menu-icon based on the kongoni logo. The default menu is lancelot which is now included in KDE.

The last task before the baseline can be released officially is to build a new kernel (it has to be done anyway as the kernel needs special features to be able to run the live cd) and then build the live cd's themselves, a couple of tests to make sure the installer works (it's been modified a bit since kongoni is multiplatform and bw64 is not) right and we should hopefully see a baseline release by this weekend (after the KDE 4.2 release party of course).

With that timeline, we expect to upgrade to full KDE 4.2 for the baseline - since the RC is running fine, this should be very easy.

A logo concept for a project I am involved in. Kongoni means wildebeest in one of our local languages... I think.

As this is going to be used for the project, I ask that you please do not copy and reuse. Thanks

*edit* The logo has been approved by the guys involved in the project. What is Kongoni? Here an little bit from the website (still yet to be skinned by me )

Kongoni is the Shona word for a Gnu (also known as a Wildebeest) the animal which inspired the name of the GNU operating system. The name represents the spirit and history of Kongoni, a GNU/Linux operating system of African origin.
Kongoni is a desktop oriented operating system with a strong belief in being truly free software. This means that Kongoni will neither include nor ship any software not under a license approved by the free software foundation.

I am both proud and honored to be part of this project.
